fis-gtm now available in the Debian Linux testing Distribution

Moving Forward Towards Release 

Following up the recent introduction of the fis-gtm package (GT.M) in the Debian Linux Distribution, the package is now going through the Debian release process and it has now been made available as part of the Debian Testing distribution (code name Jessie).

Example Installation

As an example, here is how to install fis-gtm in Ubuntu 12.10.



From the terminal used the following commands:


sudo echo "deb jessie main" > /etc/apt/sources.list.d/debian-testing.list  sudo apt-get install debian-keyring debian-archive-keyring sudo apt-key update sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install fis-gtm  


Environment Set Up Setting up the usual environment variables in the bash shell:  export gtm_dist='/usr/lib/fis-gtm/V6.0-003-2_x86_64' export gtmgbldir=$HOME/data/gtm/database export gtmroutines="$HOME/data/gtm/o($HOME/data/gtm/r) $gtm_dist/ $gtm_dist"  Running And then was able to run the MUMPS interpreter as:  $gtm_dist/mumps -dir   Thanks  Thanks again to all the team members who joined forces for packaging fis-gtm for Debian
