The Center for a New American Security released a report today titled “Reforming the Military Health System”. The benefits that DoD would gain from an open source EHR solution is a major theme in the report.
The following is a short article about the report.
POLITICO Pro: Report: DoD must choose open-source EHR By Ashley Gold February 12, 2015
I recently attended the 9th Annual Open Source Think Tank. This was OSEHRA’s third year of participation, and it has been quite interesting to watch continued growth of the open source community across so many business areas.
The House Appropriations Subcommittee in Military Construction and Veterans Affairs issued FY14 Bill on May 14, 2014. The bill includes language on a single, integrated electronic health record system as shown in their summary below.
The new phase of our mission continues and expands as we conclude a very satisfying first Summit and Workshop. I would like to thank the community of 350 people who participated in the event as speakers, panel members, inquisitors and staff.
OSEHRA is on the Move. As we clear the hurdles of establishing Governance structure, clarifying Vision, implementing work Processes, and employing our IT Infrastructure and Development Tools, we simultaneously are preparing ourselves for the long run with the Open Source community.
