Issue Tracker Poll Open

Good Afternoon Everyone;

I wanted to announce to the participants of this community that the survey is open from now, until this Saturday, 3.10.2012 p.m. EST for the community to select it's go ahead issue tracker for the code convergence project specifically.

The poll is located at the link below:

Ongoing Meeting Availability

Concern was raised today that our current meeting time and duration may be inadequate. Several people have conflicts at our normal time, and we may want to extend this dialogue to two hours.

Luis suggested several tools; upon examination they  are essentially identical to the poll that I posted.  To help coordinate, I have opened the poll back up indefinitely at the link below.

What about adding CHCS/SAIC to the code convergence effort?

While at HIMSS, I stopped by the SAIC booth.  (Full disclosure: I am a former employee/owner of SAIC, but have since sold all my stock and now have no interest in the company).  I met with some of the senior management, who had no idea that the CHCS source code was copyrighted by SAIC.  I mentioned OSEHRA and the code convergence effort, and suggested that SAIC consider contributing this code to the effort.

Seems like a good idea to me :)

Welcome to the OSEHRA Imaging Group

Welcome to the OSEHRA Imaging Group everyone!

Let's start by opening a conversation about the groups' goals and activities.

Luis Ibanez said: "One of the targets that we have for the immediate future is to extend EWD and VistACom to display medical images that have been extracted from a PACS system."

So I would like to propose some structure for the goals (by priority) regarding medical images in EHRa:

1) Display

2) Tools (basic and advanced)

Proposal to create an "Imaging Group" in OSEHRA

Hello everybody,

I just joined OSEHRA as suggested by Dr. Seong K. Mun and Dr. Fred Prior (thank you both!). I am thrilled to join this incredible community.

Here is my first "contribution" to the group: I would like to propose the creation of an Imaging Group in OSEHRA.

After nearly a decade involved in the development of medical imaging software, I believe imaging is a rapidly growing and important part of any Healthcare IT solution.

What do you think. How do we go about it?

Looking forward to your feedback,

Jorge Cortell

Russ Davis and others- Having served as Chief Innovation Officer at MedStar and Director, Translational Informatics at Johns Hopkins Hospital, and having blogged extensively in the past about this at (e.g., , this is a losing battle. I tend to be "doom and gloom", but note that the NSA AES 256 bit has been cracked ( It appears to work better if the perpetrator can get their hands on both keys.
