Demo Patient Data

After installing VistA, I have a blank system with no patient data, so it is difficult to evaluate system functionality.  Is there any sort of demo patient data so that can be easily imported into the VM that i just installed?

OSEHRA Demo Data

Robert:

OSEHRA has some demo data that our automated test framework imports into the VistA system. Please see the following links if this is of interest:

  • https://github.com/OSEHRA/VistA/blob/master/Documentation/AutomatedVistAConfiguration.rst

Thanks!

Step by Step

I appreciate the quick response. I am just evaluating VistA at this point, so I installed the OSEHRA virtual machine to get up and running quickly. I was hoping that after installing the VM, there would be something simple, like steps 1-10 to populate the environment with sample data. I am so new to Vista that the links provided did not make it immediately obvious to me how I should proceed. I appologize for the newbie question but would appreciate any help.

Still looking for some data and easy setup?

You may want to check this out: http://www.osehra.org/blog/automated-vista-installation-and-testing-using-vagrant

You install vagrant, git, and virtualbox and the scripts will do the rest of the work. It will prepopulate some patients and data (not extensive, but it is a start).

Hope this helps!

Automated Installation Not Working

Nitin Deshwal's picture

Hi Christopher,

I have install vagrant, git, virtual box and followed step by step mentioned below link:

http://www.osehra.org/blog/automated-vista-installation-and-testing-using-vagrant

All goes fine but stuck in step: “Cloning into ‘VistA-M’ after wait for so long (approx 6 hour) I have press ctrl+c to exit.

Now It is a blank database in term of Patient and User, and routine also get break in between creating user with message “%GTM-E-TPLOCK, Cannot release lock(s) held prior to current TSTART”

I have put some dummy patient in it and try place Lab Order but nothing is working.

Please help to figure out latest Osehra GTM database and routines.

Try Rackspace or AWS

Pressing ctrl-c defenitely will prevent the scripts from working as intended. If you are on a slow internet connection, slower machine, or have slow hard drives the cloning and import process can take a while. You can try to use a cloud provider such as Amazon's AWS or Rackspace to try to alleviate the issues.

The GTM-E-TPLOCK is from not running the scripts to completion.  The scripts will modify the routine so this error won't occur.

Thanks!
