Agenda

  • Mario Hyland (Chair) introduced the OSEHRA IWG Mission Statement

Minutes (all from discussion portion of presentation)

  • Challenge: how to help the community contribute to VA VistA
    • A team has been working on this for at least a month now
  • John Roberts of the Tenn. health system would like to hear more about open source and VistA in public health
  • Challenges of interoperability: NHIM anecdote, programmatic implementations of standards, but not all issues were programmatic
  • Many interoperability challenges surface through testing, so testing is an important mitigation strategy.  Spending some time focusing on this could be beneficial to the working group.
  • Interoperability discussions are often focused on the technical, but we should also keep in mind the nuances and interactions on the user end in this working group
