Clinical Decision Support & Analytics

The purpose of this work group is to identify automated decision support solutions that support the clinical workflows related to multiple clinical domains as well as a Veteran (patient)-Centric, Task-Oriented capabilities that will fit within the VA's intentions for VistA Evolution and the eHMP architecture.  The specific focus will be to develop tools that support Care Coordination with a backbone of Analytics to identify gaps in care, untimely care, clinical results and medication metrics, consult and referal disconnects, reconciliation of clinical care plans, and algorithmic systems to support better outcomes.   The beginings of a Learning Health System.

Abstract:

Cognitive Medical Health eDecisions CDS Application for PTSD and Suicide.

Cognitive Medical Systems will demo its Health eDecisions DSTU HL7 standard for structured knowledge capture and content integration. Developed as part of an ONC Standards & Interoperability initiative to address a real-world use case of suicide risk assessment among Veterans, the specification aims to increase interoperability among health care systems by enabling the import and maintenance of clinical knowledge artifacts.
