Hello everybody,I'm Bassant...

Hello everybody,
I'm Bassant from Egypt, a beginner with Vista application, I had learned MUMPS language from Sam's tutorials, made the vistA installation and link the CPRS and running now but I want to look in more details in the VistA code and explore it also how the modules communicate with each others, any suggestion for a simple code documentation

Thanks in advance

Hello Bassant,

Joseph Snyder's picture

Hello Bassant,

Welcome to the Development Tools group.  OSEHRA has a series of tools which we use to explore the VistA code on from a high level and from the code level

The "OSEHRA ViViaN",  that Fabian mentions above, is an attempt to visualize the connections between VistA packages and other interesting information about the system itself.  We visualize functional relationships between packages, demonstrate the menu structure of the FOIA VistA instance, and in the demonstration  site, attempt to show the patch history of the VistA site. ViViaN can be accessed from the following links

Another useful resource, which is often linked to from ViViaN, are the OSEHRA VistA Cross Reference pages.  This is a set of HTML pages that display the code-level details of the routines, globals, and Files.  All of the information is gathered from the XINDEX tool and parsed by OSEHRA to display the HTML there.  It again has two entries depending on what you are looking for

In terms of non-OSEHRA resources, the VA's VistA Document Library can be quite useful.

Welcome again, we hope that you find these useful!

- Joe
