This week, OSEHRA hosted an interactive Innovation Webinar entitled The HHS/IHS Health Information Technology Modernization Analysis Project – Technical Assessment of RPMS. Led by Dr. Theresa Cullen, Regenstrief Institute, and Dr. Howard Hayes, Hays Health Informatics Consulting, LLC., this webinar gave an overview of the HHS Office of the Chief Technology Officer’s (OCTO) one-year project to study IHS’ options for modernizing its health information technology (HIT) solutions. It analyzed the project’s scope and focused on the program facet that involves an expert technical assessment of the existing systems in use at IHS, specifically the Resource and Patient Management System (RPMS). Over 125 participants attended live and were invited to share their thoughts on what a modernized technology architecture for RPMS might look like, discussed comparable efforts, and identified possible barriers.
A recording of this Webinar, along with presentation slides, can be found here in our Innovation Webinar Series Archive. An article on this project and webinar was also featured here by Healthcare Informatics.
